Irish You Luck Progress and Stitch Markers.  In early Irish folk tales horseshoes were good luck, as their iron wards off mythical creatures like goblins and other evil spirits.  Wearing green is also thought to make people “invisible” to some fairy creatures.  The shamrock is a symbol of Ireland, not to be confused with a lucky four-leaf clover.  The shamrock is clover with three leaves – and that is a symbol of Ireland.
